Coriolis flow measurement for gas and liquids

If you need even more precise measurement results

Coriolis flow meters are among the most accurate flow meters available.

Coriolis flow measurement works by resonating two parallel U-shaped pipes at the bottom of the pipe bend. Sensors on the sides of the U-shaped tubes record the frequency and phase shift of the oscillations. The weight of the pipes influences the resonant frequency, which in turn depends on the density of the fluid in the pipes.

The resonant frequency is therefore a direct measure of the density of the fluid. When there is no flow, the oscillation signals from sensors A and B are in phase. When flow is present, the Coriolis force causes a phase shift between the signals from sensors A and B. This phase shift is a direct measure of the flow rate (mass flow).
